A substantial harbor which could house a score of nuclear ballistic missile submarines a host of aircraft carriers has been built by China at the Sanya Base on Hainan Island’s southern tip based on satellite imagery passed to ‘The Daily Telegraph’. Pentagon’s greater concern is the massive tunnel entrances built into hillsides and around the base which is estimated to be 60ft high. Sources fear that these could lead to caverns that are capable of hiding as much as 20 nuclear submarines from spy satellites. This will be a significant challenge to the dominance of U.S. Navy and to the countries that are around the South China Sea.
