Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton said that the United States would “totally obliterate” Iran if it attacked Israel with nuclear weapons – because of this statement Iran has lodged a formal protest at the United Nations (reported by IRNA, the state-run news agency).

When asked what she would do if Iran attacked Israel, Mrs. Clinton made the comment in an interview saying that if she will be the next president, the United States will attack Iran. So Mehdi Danesh-Yazdi (Iran’s deputy ambassador to the United Nations) sent a letter of protest to the United Nations Security Council and secretary general stating that the comments of Mrs. Clinton were “provocative, unwarranted, and irresponsible.”
